sówka was born in golmore jungle and raised in valnain; a vibrant port city in dalmasca that fell to the garlean empire thirty years ago. on that day, sówka lost his mother and his youngest sister to imperial soldiers as they were attempting to flee to doma.he was much closer to his mother than his sisters ever were; he accompanied her on bounty hunts and trained under her as a lancer for most of his childhood. he didn't start studying magic until well into his adult life, and even then, he never strayed too far from his mother's side.overwhelmed with grief after the loss of his mother and sister, sówka naively chose to form a pact with a creature from the void. however, in doing so, his soul crystal and faerie were completely swallowed by darkness. in order to maintain his power and keep his companion sated, sówka must constantly channel aether into the crystal.wip
